Danish Bakery

If you’re feeling peckish and hungry for a taste of Hong Kong’s retro snacks, you’ve come to the right place. Started in 1958, time-honoured snack shop Danish Bakery was once one of the rare places you could get a burger in Hong Kong. It’s long been popular with the neighbourhood’s school children and families alike, serving up signature fried pork chop buns, hotdogs, as well as iconic Hong Kong pastries like pineapple buns, coconut tarts and egg tarts. You’ll notice there’s nothing to do with Denmark here – its name simply implied its exotic western offering during a time when these foods weren’t common at all in the city.
